GREEN PACKAGING Fetzer wine bottles are made from 35% post-consumer recycled glass and our case partitions use 100% recycled material. Fetzer has recently implemented a lightweight bottle initiative, which has reduced the carbon footprint of our packaging throughout the entire value chain, from bottle production to shipping all the way to your home.
WASTE REDUCTION Through company-wide reduction efforts, Fetzer has reduced its waste to landfills by 96% since 1990, from 1,724 tons to 65 tons in 2010 — all while doubling wine production. Fetzer continues to make improvements in waste reduction every year |
Harnessing the Sun Atop Fetzer’s bottling facility is one of the wine industry’s largest solar array, which is 899 kW, and is capable of generating 1.1MM kilowatt hours of clean energy — equivalent to planting nearly 200 acres of pine or fir forest.”
SPREADING THE WORD Environmental sustainability also means sharing information and working together, because we can’t do it alone. Collaborating with scientists, educators and the government, Fetzer provides vital education and outreach to other growers, wineries, and the general public.
